David has enjoyed 25+ years of international experience as a media educator, venture catalyst, investor,
board member and/or advisor to over 35 startup, early stage, multi-national and government
entities; as a global business and economic development executive, consultant, and public
speaker; as an award-winning executive producer of multiple commercial digital media and
mobile products and content for a number of the major record labels (EMI, Capital, MCA,
Polydor); and as a philanthropist. Over the years he has co-raised and
deployed capital for over 20 ventures, and consulted to advised, conducted due diligence
upon, other otherwise support multiple hundreds of ventures, with telecom/cable, digital
media, digital education, renewable energy and key food commodities trading the current
balance of his international portfolio.
David is also an author of nearly 50 articles and reports on the evolution of the digital
domain, mobile learning, interactive education and economic development for trade
publications, professional books and institutional clients such as The Ontario Ministry of
Culture, NTT-Docomo, Microsoft Press and Carnagie-Mellon University; and is a speaker
who has given more than 60 forward-looking keynote and other speeches throughout the
world for clients or sponsors such as the EU; the King of Sweden; the Swedish, Danish,
Canadian and French Governments; the National Institute of Film in Denmark; TV Globo
(Brazil); Viacom; Mercedes/Siebold and numerous other economic development agencies,
universities, corporations and educational associations (e.g., MLearn, WMTE Mobile and
Wirelesss Learning, etc.)
David earned a Masters in Education in 1990 from Harvard University with a focus on
optimizing economic and career development and “human capital” via entertainment
interfaces/informal media, while conducting simultaneous class-work at the MIT Media Lab
and Harvard’s Business School. In 1984 he earned his undergraduate degrees in rhetoric and
film with honors from the University of California at Berkeley.
